In the film, Kilgore is a Vietnam veteran and a member of a covert military unit known as “Aquarius” who is nicknamed “The Pig” by his fellow soldiers.

The film takes place during the Vietnam War and features a description of how he must become an equal to his subordinates so that they will follow him to the ends of the world.
